We always enjoy returning to shoot wedding films at Buxted Park Hotel being their recommended videographers and we always love working with fantastic couples like Helen and David.
On the day we arrived at Buxted Park Hotel to capture Helen getting ready in one of their beautiful rooms. Helen looked absolutely gorgeous in an elegant Isabella Grace dress and a traditional full-length veil. With makeup by Ellie Gill and hair by Liz from Simply Beautiful Wedding Hair, Helen looked amazing. With a natural and understated glamour and elegance, Helen really suited being a bride. The moment when her father saw her in her dress for the first time was so wonderful and emotional and was a joy to capture.
Bridesmaids wore elegant and simple navy full length dresses and the bouquets were the clever creation of by Mrs Florist in Tunbridge Wells. Helen’s bridal bouquet of wild flowers was just stunning.
Before the ceremony we got the chance to catch up with David who was at St Thomas’s Church in Groombridge greeting guests before the ceremony. He and his grooms party looking very smart in blue 3-piece suits (we loved the checked waist coats and yellow bow ties!)
Helen and her Dad travelled to the ceremony in style in a gorgeous red and black vintage wedding car. They walked down the aisle accompanied by a harpist. The ceremony itself was conducted by Revd Sharon Francis (our favourite vicar) .
After the ceremony there was a fun confetti moment using rose petals before Helen and David left for the reception in that stunning vintage wedding car.
Now we get to talk about why we love shooting wedding film at Buxted Park Hotel. As recommended videographers we are lucky enough to frequently work at this fantastic wedding venue. You’d think we’d be used to it but every time we arrive and get that first glimpse of this majestic palatial mansion set in the Ashdown Forrest it just blows us away.
On arrival everybody enjoyed a drinks reception on Buxted Park’s fantastic terrace that has breath-taking views across the Sussex countryside. Whilst guests happily mingled, we, along with the wedding photographer, took a walk with Helen and David to capture some romantic images and footage of them around the amazing grounds of Buxted Park.
The wedding reception was held in Buxted Park’s grand ballroom. We loved the ballroom’s empire chandeliers, impressive feature fireplace and full-length Georgian sash windows that flooded the ballroom with tons of natural light (us Sussex wedding videographers are always thrilled when we are given an abundance of natural light to play with!) Flowers were spectacular. We just loved the way that Helen and David didn’t play it safe with colours and it really paid off. They were stunning.
Now we love wedding favours as they always tell us something of our brides and grooms’ personalities. The seed packs for guests to plant to raise money for St Wilfred’s Hospice were a beautiful and thoughtful memento of the day.
Helen and David were welcomed into their reception rapturously. This was followed by some very well received speeches and a delicious meal. After which some guests headed back outside to enjoy the last of the sunshine and there were outdoor games for the young and not quite so young to enjoy.
Evening celebrations started with the cutting of a beautiful wedding cake before a romantic first dance accompanied by a live band. Seeing Helen and David on the dancefloor surrounded by their loved ones seemed the perfect time to close the story of their lovely wedding day.
A gorgeous, elegant, fun, family-friendly wedding for this lovely pair. Congratulations to Helen and David for getting married and creating an amazing day for yourselves and your guests to remember.
We’ll leave the last word to them. Here’s what they had to say about working with us.
“We chose Cut Above Productions for our wedding video, their personal yet professional approach really made us feel confident they would produce something for us to remember.
They liaised with our photographer and worked so well together we didn’t even notice. The outcome was a fantastic montage and sequence of footage of our special day.
Carol was very sensitive to the needs of my wife to be in the morning and made her feel at ease in the preparations. We are so pleased with all of the footage they have captured and provided for us.”
