On 15th September we had the pleasure of shooting a wedding film at The Spa Hotel for Charley and Mike’s elegant Tunbridge Wells wedding. Set in 14 acres of picturesque grounds The Spa Hotel was originally built in 1776 as a country mansion. Nowadays it is a sophisticated hotel and spa with an award winning restaurant, so was the perfect venue for Charley and Mike’s day.

On the day we arrived at The Spa early to capture Charley getting ready for the day. Charley was in good hands with Danni doing her hair and makeup and her bridal party at her side seeing to any last minute needs.

Mike and his grooms’ party arrived in style in a vintage military jeep!

Charley looked stunning in her wedding dress that had the most beautiful back detail. Flowers on the day were fabulous and were the clever creation of Highgate Florists and Growers in Crowborough.

After a beautiful ceremony held in The Orangery suite, where Charley’s Auntie sang during the signing of the register, there was a wonderful confetti moment before everybody enjoyed a drinks reception and there were some formal, some fun and some portraits photographs taken of Charley and Mike around the beautiful gardens and grounds of The Spa Hotel.

The wedding reception was held in The Spa’s beautiful Chandelier Suite, a stunning room with chandeliers, ceiling drapes and beautiful ceiling to floor windows. Charley and Mike were welcomed to the room with rapturous applause from their guests. After a delicious wedding breakfast there were some very well received speeches along with an additional surprise bridesmaid. Who if I’m honest, wasn’t quite up to par with the other two, but we mustn’t be mean, he did his best!

Now I like quirks at weddings as they show something of the couples ‘personalities and at Charley and Mike’s I loved the wedding cake. The figures on top were adorable!

Whilst Charley and Mike’s guests happily milled about there was a chance for us to to take some shots of the Charley and Mike around the grounds of The Spa Hotel. I particularly liked the ones of the pretty wooden bridge over the pond.

The evening entertainment started with some of the younger guests showing everybody how to cut some shapes on the dancefloor, then there was the cutting of the gorgeous four-tier wedding cake and then a romantic first dance.

The image of Charley and Mike dancing surrounded by all of their loved ones seemed a fitting image to close the story of their day. A gorgeous, fun, family wedding at an elegant and sophisticated wedding venue. Congratulations to Charley and Mike for getting married. I think I’ll leave the last word to them. Here’s what they had to say about working with us…

‘We have watched our videos. They are absolutely amazing, we can’t thank you enough! Thank you so much for all your hard work’
